Our good buddy JD Turner from Holistic Skateshop in West Reading, PA contacted us about creating graphics for his new shop deck, which turned into shirts, hoodies, stickers and a full marketing campaign.

We pumped out about 20 different concepts, landing on a classic skin dripping mutant sliding off of the deck. Once the image was finished, we collaborated on the idea of different color combinations (more on that later, we have to keep some surprises)

After these were approved, he told us that the new company he gets boards through can also print glow in the dark! The red one on the left has the entire image glowing, the one on the right has just the eye, teeth and shop logo glowing.

He then asked for the image to be on apparel, So we re-drew the bottom of the head to keep the same feel as the deck art. We also re-created the holistic logo into a dripping mess for the front pocket image:

Of course, they too had to be glow-in-the-dark:

We also created an eye melting fluorescent version for shirts and hoodies:

And finally, some jumbo glow-in-the-dark stickers:

Now that that was done, it was time to think about how we were going to roll this out and really hype it up. So we decided on a teaser commercial for social media to start:

From there, we then created both static and video posts for each individual product, 12 total:

There will be a release party at Holistic on May 2nd. Come one come all, supplies are limited. We'll be there from 7-9 pm. Visitors day of get a free signed and numbered poster with the purchase of a deck!

Drew & the Blue - "Wicked Woman - Cigarette" 7" illustration

 Humbled to be asked by @drewandtheblue to create the art for their first 7" release! We were also asked to animate the artwork for the Spotify release of "Wicked Woman." Check out these brief development animations that got us there. Big thanks Drew and the crew

David Byrne - St Vincent - process

Here's a quickie little animation made from the save states while we were developing this poster for David Byrne & St Vincent:

Hot Dog Social Club - band logo/ apparel/ motion graphics

We've always felt a band logo should be iconic enough to stand alone, but simple enough that a kid can draw it on his notebook. That it looks good black and white, or ANY mix of patterns and colors.

We were real pleased with this one, too bad the band broke up shortly after this was made. sad face...

Jonathan Monument - Flip the Tables

Alongside our triplet brother, Andy, and our good friend Matthew Mazurkiewicz, we shot and edited this green screen music video for Reading PA's very own, Jonathan Monument.

Old Movie Countdown

A long long time ago, we were in a band called the Six O Clock Saints.
During our shows, we projected remixed animations and found movie footage
that matched the tone of our set and we, from time to time, would throw our own
films and shorts into the mix. The classic countdown (or STMPE leader)
was one that we projected at every show for years and we loved it...
until we were hit with a cease and desist.

As it turned out, we discovered that this particular countdown was still owned and
created by Universal Pictures. So using it was a no-no.

So Aljax re-drew and animated every frame and, along the way, changed all of
the static images (or film notes) that occur before the 10-9-8- -  to read
Six O Clock Saints. Now we had our very own countdown to project at our shows.

Here is the scribble (that scrolls upward really fast) tiled together to reveal a surprise.

Then a crazy thing happened, it was uploaded to youtube in 2007 and the vid went
viral (it has over 1 million views). It was downloaded thousands of times and used in hundreds of other folks videos (usually with the end cut out.) Sometimes it was just re-uploaded by other folks as is.
